![]() THE CRAFT by Shan Morgain, priestess of the Craft. There is a Craft, a skill, a way of seeing and living, which is truly old. It has never found favour with the great of the world so it is often disapproved, and even persecuted. It always survives. We find this Craft in scraps, in bits and pieces. There are local customs, different in different places. Those who practise them generally do not think of themselves as being part of an organised ‘religion.’ They go by many names and see their role differently in different times and places. Nonetheless there are signs to see here and there, of threads, patches, signs, of this hidden Web or Craft. Here are its pieces. Nine of them, to weave a Web. WEB OF LIFE Life is a Web, being connected, a connectedness. EARTH We are bred of Earth, animals among animals. CUSTOMS Wherever we are, there are customs surviving from the past. SHARING Craft is best shared mouth to ear. ANCESTORS Living in the Web we are part of a massive Family. CHILDREN The Craft places family, kin, and most of all, children at the centre of life. LEADERS Craft leaders establish by skill or resources, not status. CIRCLE When small groups gather the natural way to do it is in a Circle. DIVINITY The divine is everywhere throughout the universe.
