DARKLIGHT MIDWINTER RETREAT The Darklight Midwinter Retreat gathers a smallish group together to celebrate the darkest days of the year. With warm open fires in our traditional oak Hearth - and bonfires if it's not too freezing outside! with tasty home cooked food - good company - but space to be alone - and some flexible things to do - possibilities like - Storytellings; Chanting with drums; focused Discussion and wandering conversations ...; some Tai Chi and Dance to gently invigorate the winter body; Guided journeys; a walk in Ancient Woodland or visit a little known sacred site; Talks on chosen topics; Crafts sessions; Divination; Ritual; a Giveaway, exploration of Myths; ... dance and party if we fancy it. and more ... by bringing your own ideas or best of all your own skills. DARKLIGHT MIDWINTER RETREAT This is a comfortable, budget sensitive way to do something different at Christmas - oh maybe you can't get free this year? but some time perhaps you could get away from duty or the usual goings on, and do it differently. Maybe ... We are experienced at gathering people together: we've been doing it for 30 years. We know people have differences and being away from home can be sensitive. We create a gentle but effective container of safety where people can gradually open up a degree of trust, to enjoy being together. Plus of course the home cooked food, delightful things to do, and yes you can bring alcohol with you. (er... we love MEAD.) We do however restrict alcohol to the lunch table or the evening after 6pm. This is not an excuse for just having a booze up. Yes you can be lazy, and opt out or connect as it suits you. Whatever is going on this is a very big House and there are always other places to go.
